Camp Tepeetonka is part of a Sioux Falls Family YMCA camp that provides a unique experience for young men and women ages 10 through 13. Tepeetonka is
located on the Big Sioux river and is part of Camp Leif Ericson (ages 6-9). Though Christian based, Tepeetonka aims to actively teach the Native American importance
of a strong body, mind and spirit in daily life.
Campers are divided into two groups;
Alpha (10-11) and Grande (12-13). Each sub-group provides similar, yet differing experiences whether it be wilderness
survival, rock climbing, or a friendly yet heated battle to win Feats of Strength and Wisdom.

Campers gain unique experiences based on the Native Sioux tribes who origionally roamed
the plains. These experinces include spending a night in authentic tipis and hearing the legend of Broken
Arrow and his journey to develop his body, mind and spirit.
